Hi, I’m L.A. Fowler! I live in a tiny cottage in the wild and wonderful Kootenays, BC, surrounded by forests, wildflowers, and enough butterflies to make a Disney movie jealous. My household is ruled by Mochi, my scheming Manx Ragdoll cat, and Lancelot, my giant-but-goofy Bernese dog who’s basically a fluffy baby but low-key a bear-chasing professional.
I’ve been a storyteller since before I could even read (yes, my preschool teachers were probably very confused). I used to make pretty things as a graphic designer, but life—by way of literally plowing me down with a car—decided I should spend more time writing weird, whimsical, slightly spooky stories instead. And honestly? I’m thrilled.
I love blending humor, fantasy, and a dash of horror to explore friendship, freedom-fighting, and chaos (the fun kind… okay, sometimes the apocalyptic kind). I’m inspired by folk tales, Grimm-style fairytales, and the idea that platonic friendships can be just as epic as any romance.
As a proud asexual person, feminist, and member of the LGBTQ+ community, I try to write stories that celebrate friendship, courage, and the occasional weirdness of being human—or Sessian, depending on the story.
My first book is out now, packed with oddities, laughs, and a healthy sprinkle of danger. Stick around, sign up for updates, and maybe we can get lost in some fantastical chaos together.
