Most of my stories started when I was a child. In fact, Sam, from Meet Me Tonight, was dreamed up when I was under 10 years old! But they have certainly changed since then, because so did I!
For me, writing was an outlet. As a kid with arthritis and chronic pain, it was hard to be as active as everyone else. At night, I would lay in bed, trying to ignore the pain, and lose myself in my world where anything was possible. Strong kids, rebellious teenagers, suspicious teachers, and concerned parents—my stories were a way to cope.
As I grew up, so did my characters. What were once silly, childish dramas flourished into plotlines where there was real risk. I can clearly remember Sam, Freak, and Cyber as I first imagined them. To see how they’ve grown and developed is such a joy.
Writing has been what brings me the most happiness. So much so, that it’s taken me too long to get to the point of sharing it with you. But we’re all here now, sharing this journey together.
Sam and the Sessians are only the first in my magical universe. I can’t wait to show you the rest.
A little special bonus
While perusing through my files, I found an old drawing. So here’s a very old comic of Sam and Keith chatting.
